By now most of us have already seen, if not heard about the stunning Steeler's victory over the cardinals in Superbowl forty-three. But what you may not have noticed or seen was the touchdown celebration late in the game by Santonio Holmes which ultimately decided the game. During his celebration Holmes uses the football as a prop which is clearly against regulations and is cause for an "excessive celebration" penalty. If that penalty had been recognized by the referees the Cardinals would have recieved an extra fifteen yards and may have approached the game with an entirely different offensive attitude and the Steelers may have had to switch up their mindset defensively. I'm not going as far as to say that this would've changed the final outcome of the game because it probably wouldn't have i'm just saying that the opportunity that could've arisen was denied.
